pally

Terms and conditions

Effective 21 August 2026. Pally is operated by [OPERATOR], [OPERATOR ADDRESS].

The short version

Pally is a shared notebook for money, not a bank. It records what you and the people you split with tell it you spent, and it does the arithmetic. It never moves money, holds money, or settles anything on your behalf — paying each other back happens between you, however you already do it.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By creating a Pally account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use Pally. If you use Pally on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

You need to be old enough to enter into a contract where you live in order to use Pally. If you are not, you may only use it with a parent's or guardian's consent.

2. Your account

Signing in uses a one-time code sent to your email address, so access to that inbox is access to your account. Keep it secure, and tell us at hello@support.pally-app.com if you think someone else has reached your account.

You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for the accuracy of what you put into it — including your display name, which everyone you share a group with can see.

3. What Pally does, and does not do

4. Other people's details

Pally lets you add someone to a group by name before they have an account, and invite them afterwards. When you enter another person's name or email address, you confirm you are allowed to share it with us for that purpose, and that you will tell them if they ask where it came from. Please do not add anyone who has told you not to.

5. Using Pally fairly

Please do not:

We may suspend or close an account that does any of the above, or that puts other people using Pally at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

6. Your content

What you enter stays yours. You give us only the permission we need in order to run the service — to store your data, back it up, and show it to the people you have chosen to share a group with. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

7. Availability and changes

Pally is offered as it is, and it is still early: features arrive, change, and occasionally go away. We may update, interrupt, or stop parts of the service, and we will give reasonable notice of anything that would cost you access to your data.

8. No warranty

We work to keep Pally correct and available, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every figure it shows is right — the numbers are only as good as what has been entered. To the extent the law allows, Pally is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for money you did or did not pay someone because of what Pally showed you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You keep the rights your local consumer law gives you, and nothing in these terms takes those away.

10. Ending it

You can stop using Pally at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to hello@support.pally-app.com. Expenses you entered in a shared group stay visible to the other people in it, because they are part of their record too.

11. Privacy

A full privacy policy is being written and will be linked here. In the meantime, in plain words: Pally stores your email address, your display name, and the groups, expenses and balances you enter, so that it can show them back to you and to the people you share a group with. It does nothing else with any of it, and it does not sell your data or use it for advertising.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will tell you in the app before anything material takes effect. Continuing to use Pally after that means you accept the updated terms.

13. Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of [JURISDICTION], and its courts have jurisdiction — except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally, which it may.

14. Getting in touch

Write to hello@support.pally-app.com. A real person reads it. The same address is on the profile screen in the app, under Support.
